The return window
- Return within 30 days of purchase (store) or delivery (online). Items must be resellable with all tags attached.
- Store purchases: bring the item, your receipt or e-receipt, and your original payment method to an H&M store. Store purchases can't be returned by mail.
- Online orders: return in store or by mail.
Fees & refunds
- In-store returns and exchanges are always free. Online returns by mail cost $5.99, taken from your refund.
- Refunds go to your original payment method, usually within 14 days of H&M receiving your return.
- No online exchanges — return the item and place a new order. Most stores exchange store purchases.
Can't be returned
- Final sale items, gift cards, opened cosmetics, earrings, hosiery, underwear (bras are OK), swimwear without the hygiene seal (bikini tops are OK) and Pre-Loved items.
- Special collections, designer collaborations and some promotional items may have different rules — they're shown when you buy.
