The return window
- Return or exchange unused or defective merchandise by mail or at a UO store. Within 30 days of the delivery date you get a refund to your original payment; after 30 days, an emailed e-merchandise credit.
- After one year, UO no longer accepts returns or exchanges. Online windows count from the delivery date.
- In-store purchases can be returned to any UO store with your receipt.
Holiday returns (2026)
- Purchases made October 1 – December 24, 2026 can be returned for a refund to your original payment through January 31, 2027.
Fees & furniture
- Returns in a UO store are free. Most mailed returns have a $5 restocking fee taken from your refund.
- Most furniture can be returned by carrier within 30 days of delivery (not in stores); some pieces have a restocking fee. Defective furniture can be refunded within a year of purchase.
Can't be returned
- Made-to-order furniture, sale-on-sale items and items ending in $0.95. UO MRKT items go back to their seller, not UO.
